Picnic Baskets

Not long after I bought this wonderfully-woven picnic basket at a wholesale outlet, I found a similar version at a popular retail store. Soon after, my sister brought me another one that she got for free from a friend who was relocating.

This white wicker basket is perfect to pack for a picnic at a park or in the middle of your living room floor.

Most baskets are empty when purchased, but not this one. In all three cases explained above, this version came equipped with two cloth dinner napkins, four plastic drinking goblets supported on each inside corner by ribbon sewn within the basket's weave.

There are also slots for dinnerware and utensils in the hood and main interior section.

Not all picnic baskets include these options, but that's part of this basket's charm. You never know what you'll see when you open one, but rest assure you'll be satisfied when you bring it to a favorite event.

This photo shows the bottom portion of the basket.

Here you can easily see the ribbon that holds the four goblets in place in each corner.

There's plenty of room for goodies, including, wine, cider, cheese, fruit, spreads, dips, bread, salsas, crackers, salads, and chocolates.

Those are a few suggestions, and there's much more available for your selection.

My picnic basket gets a thorough workout all year long, not just during the summer. When you find one that's right for you, why save it for a so-called special occasion? Every day is special when you can pack your picnic and take it anywhere in the home or outside.
